Protect yourself and your cargo: high value theft targeted

Programme Overview

Cargo theft is one of the top threats to the supply chain. It hits road transport – and drivers – especially hard as cargo is most vulnerable while in transit.

The problem is not limited to high-value loads. Less protected lower-value loads are also tempting targets. Security incidents can have devastating consequences for carriers, even those who are properly insured. Insurance policies often exclude some incidents or do not cover the entire loss. Reporting theft can also result in administrative burden and higher premiums. Word spreads quickly, and a theft incident may cause irreparable loss of reputation.

Who is the course for?

The IRU Academy and the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) – the leading global supply chain security association – have developed a state-of-the-art course on transport security. This e-learning course allows drivers to minimise security risk throughout transport operations. The course focuses on cargo theft but also covers related security risks such as illegal immigration and smuggling.

Programme Features

  • Why e-learning?

Security is not just about technology: it is first and foremost about people. Transporting high value theft targeted goods requires knowledgeable drivers, however every minute a driver is sitting in a classroom he is not on the road. So how to streamline your training process? With e-learning for introductory training.

This course is designed to complement your company-specific training. Not only does it provide consistent, reliable, generally applicable best practice from TAPA’s security experts, but it also does so in under one hour, and can be taken on any device, anywhere, at any pace, and in a traceable way.

In addition, it is the ideal vector for periodical “refresher” training to reinforce key security principles.
