To have safe cargo movements on our roads it is essential to use the correct loading and securing measures for every type of cargo being transported. Incorrect loading can lead to damaged goods, vehicles and infrastructure, as well as injuries and fatalities.

The IRU Academy Safe Loading and Cargo Securing course is based on the International Guidelines on Safe Load Securing for Road Transport which incorporate the latest international standards.

Anyone involved in the loading and securing of cargo including transport operators, commercial drivers, loaders, customers and suppliers.

The course is offered globally through the IRU Academy network of Associate Training Institutes.

• Course structure

  The training is given in a classroom with the support of interactive tools including a simulator which presents a range of loading and securing situations and a lashing calculator that allows candidates to experiment with various scenarios.

  Participants receive the IRU Academy Safe Loading and Cargo Securing certificate when they have completed the course.
